The material is well paced and in a logical order. Because it was written by both a jazz musician and classical musician, ideas are explained in ways that are very easy for me to relate to, but the book also reveals jazz concepts I was unfamiliar with.
Rawlins has performed extensively on flute, saxophone and clarinet in both jazz and classical venues.
