Since I read this, I guess I have to finish this series off with Villier’s story. View all 5 comments. I’m a fan of Eloisa James, but to me, of duchses she can do a little wrong. I appreciate that this book was told over multiple books, because I think it needed that muc 4. She even had all her teeth, to reduce the subject to the level of cattle. I had already grown to care for the characters because they had been in the previous books.

He loosens up a little, though he’s still pretty jammes in his ways. While this book was engaging – read it in one day – the silly subplots took away from the story rather than making it better.
No man can resist Jemma’s sensuous allure. Ducheas Elijah, who she has fallen in love with, tells her that he loves his mistress she is devastated and runs off to Paris, where, after waiting several years for her husband to come and get her, she engages in her first affair. OK, so I am admittedly a crazy Eloisa James fan. It’s fortunate that this isn’t my first foray into EJ world; otherwise, I would have missed her better books.
I just hope she cuts excessive superlatives out for the next book ja,es it’s too late for her to tell the “Jeli” story she should have told here.

Please do not read about The Inside Take if you’re wary of knowing who is paired with whom! With the template drawn only in outline so readers could DIY, Eloisa then issued a challenge: This is my favorite book of the series, without a doubt. And boy, does he learn his lesson the hard way. The duke’s illness, their past, the illness, the past, the illness Unfortunately, although it deserves credit for uniqueness and creativity, it was overly flowery and a tad boring, and I found myself skimming the pages.
But the handsome duke needs an heir, so he summons his seductive wife home.

So with Elijah seemingly on the brink of death, Jemma is unsure what to do with her marriage, but they start “courting” each other – and finally, finally get together over a blind-folded game of chess. Except her own husband! He is by far my favorite character in the series and I feel bad for him when I see how many women use him, or dump him, or use him and then dump him.
You have to read to find out. WHY did Duchsss keep a mistress? You were worried what your mistress would think if you said no?! It’s like being Superman, with power suits for both lives.

The title should be at least 4 characters long. At the point in the book where she describes her “bone-depth gratitude for her beauty,” I was slightly sick, and waiting for her to redeem herself. And they were having this conversation while in bed no less.

Later then… Aaaaand in the end Mrs. For many readers, it may push the boundaries of comfort zones the entire story, from the beginning makes it clear it willbut I loved it.
Let me start with saying, that’s not quite what I expected, although I wasn’t expecting much. The story was so powerfully moving! But the handsome duke needs an heir, so he summons his seductive wife home. That’s the book I borrowed for my grandmom, but decided to read it anyway as she liked it. Of course there are still significant issues to resolve, or else we wouldn’t h Book five in a series and the one I’ve been looking forward to through all of the previous books.
